Artist's statement:

I am interested in man's attempts to understand, contain and display his world – the distance or space he thereby puts between himself and nature. The paintings variously draw on composite scenes of reality and remembered and real views for reference.

The "Interiors" body of work was created after home renovations when the "inside spaces", the domestic world, were of overriding concern to me. Objects and their relationship to surrounding spaces were examined in a decorative and playful manner.
