I originally came to learn about painting with acrylics but I have learnt so much more. Gabrielle has an immense amount of knowledge about art in her head and can hardly wait to impart as much of it as possible to you (in a good way!). I have just learnt so much, ranging from landscape to abstract to still life and everything in between. I have also learnt about the importance of tone, mixing from a limited palette, warm and cool colours and how they can change depending on their relationship to each other and that's just for starters! Gabrielle is also very generous with her knowledge and always encouraging which is so important to any artist. Thanks so much Gabrielle for helping my daughter with her Art assignment. When she came home and announced she wanted to change from textile to Visual Arts half way through the year and that she had to complete an 800mm square portrait in the school break with no tuition I was a little concerned. After mentioning it to you at art class one week you suggested emailing an image and you could offer some advice. What a relief! This worked brilliantly. Gabrielle was able to give advice on colour, technique and composition and suggested a medium to use, which made such a difference. The process was simple and very time efficient. My daughter was encouraged and inspired by Gabrielle's comments. She completed the work feeling confident with what she had achieved. And she got a great mark! Yay! I was very pleased with what I was able to achieve in Gabrielle's masterclass at the Goulburn Regional Gallery. I wanted to tackle a new approach to landscape painting and Gabrielle gave me the confidence to do this. The class was well structured for the three hour period and I found Gabrielle to be a very clear communicator, moving us through various stages to achieve our various aims. She was also particularly helpful in palette selection. |
